The advent of the Internet 2.0 or the social network has created web applications as an alternative method of deploying applications with minimal cost. The implications of a distributed system having only one installation for maintenance is quite alluring but tons of opposition and intrigue has been plaguing them since the start but their development has been fast tracked by many and are now being used mainly in business where custom applications have been developed and are currently in use. The many types and forms these systems have taken spans the whole spectrum of applications from time keeping to real-time project development and management. One of the most used types of platforms is JavaBeans which is actually a set of already made small applications that could be put together allowing it to perform more complex tasks.
